Bartow City Commissioners unanimously voted to keep the millage rate for ad valorem taxes at the same level as last year’s rate: 3.9962 mills. The millage rate is 12.53 percent less than the proposed rollback rate of 4.568 mills; it is also a 12.53 percent reduction in property taxes. It is projected it will generate .3 percent more than the total operating expenditures of fiscal year 2009-2010.

By MIKE GROGAN LEDGER CORRESPONDENT DAVENPORT | City commissioners gave their final approval Monday to a 2009-2010 budget that includes a 30.9 percent increase in property tax rates.

DAVENPORT | City commissioners have settled on a small property tax increase - from this year's rate of $5.9792 per $1,000 of taxable property to $6 for the coming year - to help make up for the continuing downward spiral of property values.

LAKELAND | City commissioners Friday agreed to consider a property tax rate increase to $4.27 per $1,000 of assessed property value for the 2011 fiscal year. But the process of setting the city’s budget and tax rate still has a long way to go.
