A Lakeland Electric meter reader and a 76-year-old man were robbed at gunpoint Friday morning at 1716 Bush Ave. in Lakeland, according to a spokesman for the Lakeland Police Department.

Lakeland police say a man on probation for burglary and grand theft is responsible for two recent attacks on city meter readers. Jermaine I. Hardy, 19, is charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault with a firearm and shooting into an occupied vehicle.
