Just weeks after thousands of Floridians lined up at local tag offices to renew their vehicle registrations before steep new fees took effect, state House Democrats have filed legislation to repeal the fees. Vehicle registration fees jumped from $100 to $225 on Sept. 1.
TALLAHASSEE | Motor vehicle registration, driver license and court fees will be going up, but Florida also will become the last state to waive court filing fees for poor people through a series of budget conforming bills approved Tuesday by top House and Senate negotiators.
With one of the Department of Motor Vehicle branches in Manatee County shutting down, residents will have to go to a different place to serve their needs.
