You can save money on your auto tag renewal if you renew early, but you can't do it if you apply too early, according to Polk County Tax Collector Joe Tedder. Tedder's office sent out a clarification to an earlier press release about ways to avoid increased fees for license tags that take effect on Sept. 1.

By TOM PALMER THE LEDGER If your vehicle tag expires before Nov. 30, you can renew it by Aug. 31 and avoid a fee increase taking effect Sept. 1, Polk County Tax Collector Joe Tedder said.

The Polk County Tax Collector's Office is offering homeowners an installment plan to pay their property taxes. Thursday is the deadline to apply, according to Polk County Tax Collector Joe Tedder.
